Genre and what to do:
Action game. Velvet Assassin is told from a flashback perspective and introduces you to Violette Summer, who was born in England and grew up in a happy family. At the beginning of her adult life she started working in a beauty salon, but the outbreak of war inspired her to join the weapon industry. After a while she became a British secret agent, a successful spy for the MI6. All the events of the game take place during World War II. The game begins when Violette has been badly injured and stays in a French hospital, trying to recover. Lying in coma she recollects lots of her previous missions, where she had to destroy key installations and German officers. The missions are not easy ones, but you have numerous options to use throughout the gameplay. The biggest part of the play consists of briefings for missions, where she explains what she needs to do. There are not so many details which explain you the back story; you will learn the rest missing elements of the storyline only in the last missions.
Style and atmosphere inside the game:
Velvet Assassin is a challenging action game, which provides you with exciting gameplay and well-done characters animations. But at the same time the Nazi characters are moving a bit robotically and facially look like one another. The sound system provides the players with suitable sound effects and quite relevant background music. All in all, you will enjoy playing the game if you are a fan of action genre.
