Arcade. Welcome to Lindencroft and meet the Smith family that lives in comfortable house with beautiful garden. But their flowers are in dangers – uncountable swarms of ravenous pests invade into their territory threatening to turn the garden into devastation zone. Help the Smiths to protect their garden by arranging anti-pest gadgets, helpful plants and friendly insects on the way of harmful insects. As the pests go by, the gadgets begin work and exterminate them. You earn money for each pest that you have eliminated and bonus points for the saved flowers. The money, you have earned may be spent on buying upgrades or new defenses for the garden.
Style and atmosphere inside the game:
Garden Defense is one of the most captivating casual games, I have ever played. Bugs, butterflies, beetles, caterpillars, flies, ants, slugs and other pests are moving along their paths towards the flowerbed to the accompaniment of military march; when they reach fire range of your arsenal, the garden gnomes, cherubs, flamingos, night bells, sunflowers, cactuses and other gadgets come into action: they shoot, slow the pests down, exhale toxic gas and more. One of the most striking features is interface; in is very informative and comfortable: you can adjust game speed, health bar, fire range, see available gadgets, number of wave and type of enemy, money, and more. Other interesting twists are a field guide and a garden catalogue; the field guide provides you with interesting description of insects and the garden catalogue informs you about gadgets, helpful plants and friendly insects. All in all, due to captivating game concept and variety of interesting twists, I can recommend Garden Defense to wide range of players, irrespective of age, gender and skill level.
