Genre and what to do:
Matching game. Welcome to Exocubes that offers you to explore 49 rooms, full of dangers and obstacles, playing innovative matching game on the way. Game play can be described in the following way: you can move cubes vertically only, trying to match three or more of the same kind. There is a scanner that is checking game board for the matches periodically; when the scanner touches the matching cubes, they get energy and fall down, destroying walls on the way. A level is complete when you destroy all the walls on the game board. As you create matches, numerous power-ups appear, making game play much interesting and various.
Style and atmosphere inside the game:
Exocubes is a new twist of classic match-three game that features colorful graphics, diverse sound effects and electro music. Graphics is designed without luxuries; the rooms differ one from another in color only; cubes, power-ups and walls are well rendered and look bright. As for power-ups, they are not original and contain bombs, x-rays, ray thruster, color changer, color eraser, etc. Unfortunately there is no storyline that might have made game play much interesting and sensible. All in all, regardless of above mentioned downsides, Exocubes is the worth-trying game due to innovative game concept, multiple game modes and variety of power-ups.
