Matching game. It is the latest version of old well-known game Luxor. Apparently, assassins have desecrated the tomb of Queen Nefertiti and Akhenaten, preventing their spirits from enjoying eternal repose. Charged with recovering the jars these fiends have stolen, you must pursue the culprits across an attractively rendered campaign map that spreads throughout half a dozen exotic lands including Persia, Syria and Egypt. The main goal of the game is to eliminate all of the colored marbles before they roll to the end of the level. You do this by shooting your own marbles to the corresponding colored marbles in the chain to make matches of three or more. Your task is not too difficult but you should be careful, because you can loose everything without attention to the details.
Style and atmosphere inside the game:
The Egyptian atmosphere with statues, mummies, cats and strange Egyptian gods brings some part of mystery into the game. Great things are narrating of the story during the game and ability to collect artifacts during the game. The graphics is simple, but sometimes it visually looks liked 3D. The stunning sound effects, which are presented as epic music, help you to move through the game with needed atmosphere. Sound effects are strong and appropriate. However, this is sometimes easier said than done because the levels in Luxor have the marbles swerving in and out of snake-like positions. In this Luxor, your cursor is locked at the bottom of your screen. With mouse in hand, you can move your cursor on a horizontal plane. One thing that Luxor allows you to do is switch between two marbles from your inventory via a right mouse click. This gives you some more tactical options. Additional maneuvers come in the way of power-ups. The game tosses out collectible power-ups for every third match you make in a row. Power-ups include speed shots, devastating fireballs, destructive laser blasts, and more. And yes, as you advance, you do collect pieces of artifacts like the Eye of Horus, Cow of Hathor and Sphinx, which, when recovered, let you keep spot hidden goodies, prevent enemies from running away and unlock puzzle mode options.
