Genre and what to do:
Real time strategy game. All the events of the game take place in the world of original Battle Mages game. Be ready to go through four challenging campaigns, studying the mysteries of chaos, leading Orcs into the battle, fulfilling other exciting tasks. The evil will raise the Sign of Darkness over Daenmor. Building and commanding armies you will develop your character skills and learn powerful spells. So, try yourself as a wizard or as an orc! Take the units under the control, commanding and developing them. You can change the direction the units are attacking, moving them to different areas. In most cases the quests involve destroying something. Your troops can earn the experience points during each battle. After a definite number of experience earned you can use them to learn more powerful magic spells for your character. In the beginning of the game a young neophyte has a journey to North, where he is learning from an eccentric wizard, one of the Keepers. The apprenticeÂ’s destiny is to become a catalyst for the events which can make Daenmor shudder.
Style and atmosphere inside the game:
Battle Mages – Sign of Darkness is an exciting mixture of real-time strategy and role-playing strategy genres. The game is full of brief cut-scenes which explain the premise behind the two playable characters. The game’s characters look really good; most of them are represented in a detailed way. The only glitch is that the animations are a bit rough. There are plenty of single-player and multiplayer maps to use throughout the gameplay. The sound system hasn’t changed much since the previous game.
