Role-playing game. Aveyond: Gates of Night is the sequel of Aveyond: Lord of Twilight which features exciting new thrills and lots of action making the game more enjoyable adventure. The storyline is about Mel, a young thief, who is put at odds with an evil vampire named Gyendal, who wants to use her leading the world into eternal darkness. In the previous games Mel have studied to be a spy at the School of War and Magic, she met several companions and starts to search for another of the powerful artifacts - the Orb of Light, which can defeat Gyendal. During the gameplay, Mel together with her companions is going to search for four quarter keys to unlock the next portion of the journey. The game does much in the respect of introducing a new player into the game world gently, providing the information about character and back story as needed. Those players who have completed the first game can load their save file into the new game and bring their characters, experience points, armor and items with them. The game is full of new places to explore, and number of challenging tasks to fulfill. The gameplay is more focused on developing relationships between characters which makes the game even more interesting.
Style and atmosphere inside the game:
Aveyond: Gates of Night features well-selected soundtrack and nicely rendered graphics. Everything is represented in the same style as in the previous version of the game. As for the control system, it is also the same; you have a choice whether to use the keyboard or a mouse, adjusting the difficulty level, and saving at any time. The music is top-notch, remains catchy and suits the settings perfectly. The only negative feature is the way the maps are rendered, you will lack details. In the rest, the game is really great and will appeal to all the fans of role-playing game genre.
