Genre and what to do:
Action/strategy. Pirate Hunter invites you to move back in the 17 th century to the flourishing years of pirates, where you face notorious buccaneers, ruthless pirate hunters and well fortified towns. The designers simplified trading and building elements and paid more attention to a combat. You begin the first scenario, which includes tutorial elements, controlling a small but nimble ship, until you will able to capture a bigger and more powerful vessel. The captured ships join to your squadron, but you can control the only one. Your success in a combat depends on the right choice of ammo. There are three kinds of it: the cannon-balls damage a hull, the grape-shots blot out enemy's crew and the chain-shots damage sails. After hard battles you can enter a friendly port to repair and upgrade your vessel or to hire crewmembers or to trade some goods.
Style and atmosphere inside the game:
It seems that everybody dreams to be a brave pirate and furrow the seas. Pirate Hunter helps one to fulfill dreams from childhood. Graphics of the game is detailed and colorful. The images of towns resemble that period though are not enough animated. Music sounds and matches the atmosphere of sea adventures.
