Genre and what to do:
Strategy. First of all a player should choose one of twenty nations in the period of Roman Empire . The main goal is to build up a powerful nation, expand its territory and sphere of influence, and dominate the ancient world, which includes Italy , Gaul , Germany and Britain . The game is a faithful copy of the historical period with its tribes, nations and administrative division. A successful player must develop three major spheres: Economy, Combat and Diplomacy. Economy means building of various structures, upgrading them, thereby increasing productivity and welfare. Combat requires thinking over the way of attack, moves, type of defense, etc. Diplomacy requires very careful approach in relationships with other nations. As you can see Legion Gold demands to think thoroughly over every move like in Chess.
Style and atmosphere inside the game:
Legion Gold is an exciting journey through history with solid graphics and average, typical sound effects. Music is quite decent but not outstanding. The style of the game suits to the period of Roman Empire . Maps, battle scenarios, uniforms and ammunition are represented according to the historical data.
