The first signs of truck racing can be found in US, they seem to be dated early 1980's. Truck racing is also widely spread in UK and New Zealand and also started at almost same time. Race truck limits are usually tied to minimal weight of 5500kg, about a 1000hp diesel turbocharged engine and 100mph limit. There also are classes A, B, C. Such a truck should still be looking like a generic cargo truck, but definitely it's completely new prototype car from inside.
There is several truck racing competitions played at computers. Track racing, off-road, and economical (tycoon) simulations. |
